Giving Back Together: Washington Elevator at Ronald McDonald House

This month, our team at Washington Elevator had the privilege of volunteering at Ronald McDonald House Charities, where we spent an afternoon preparing meals for families staying at the House. It was a meaningful way to come together outside of work and give back to a community that does so much for families in need.

Ronald McDonald House Charities relies on up to 700 volunteers each month to keep their programs running. Many families return to the House after long days at the hospital or even long flights from far away, so a warm, home-cooked meal — which is exactly what we prepare — goes a long way. Our meal assignment this week was “KFC Bowls” which are apparently the #1 favorite of families! The best part? A meal prep shift only takes a few hours but leaves a lasting impact.

We’re grateful we could play a small part in this mission and encourage others to consider volunteering. Whether it’s with your workplace, family, or friends, it’s a simple yet powerful way to give back. If you’d like to learn more about volunteering opportunities and see how you can make a difference too.

Stay tuned for our next community project — a donation drive to collect Halloween costumes for the kids at Ronald McDonald House. We can’t wait to share more details on how you can join us in spreading a little extra joy this season.

Sarah Waterman

Sarah has been in the customer service business for over 25 years, first in Property Management, then transitioning into the Elevator industry, where she held the position of General Manager at Seattle's largest, most reputable independent company, followed by Branch Manager & Senior Sales Manager at one of the OEM majors.

However, her shared values & trust with the Founder, Jason, whom she worked with for nearly 10 years in the trade, plus her authentic desire to bring a breath of fresh air into the industry, compelled her to join Washington Elevator as a Partner in July of 2022. Sarah strives to provide a positive customer experience in order to build a long-term partnership.

When she isn't leading the team, she loves spending time with her two amazing teenagers, crabbing on Whidbey Island, but on a good night, her favorite activity is beating her husband in a game of cribbage!
