Mechanic Spotlight - Matt S.

It’s time for this week’s Mechanic Spotlight. It’s time to get to know Matt!

ELEVATOR EXPERIENCE: Matt has extensive experience within the elevator industry. In his 17 years, he’s worked two years in construction, three years in modernization, three years in repair and the last nine years in service. Matt started with Washington Elevator in mid-2025. He stepped up to help wrap up a geared traction modernization before stepping into a service route serving North Seattle, Shoreline, Lynnwood, Bothell, Kenmore, Lake Forest Park, Kirkland and more!

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE. Prior to starting in the elevator industry, Matt worked in road and drainage construction.

HOBBIES. In his free time, Matt enjoys camping and attending live music shows. He likes all genres of music - rock, country, jazz, blue grass, and more. Some of his favorite bands include Grateful Dead and Phish. When he can’t attend live shows, he turns to his extensive vinyl collection.

WHAT HIS COWORKERS SAY ABOUT HIM. Matt is an outstanding elevator mechanic whose professionalism and expertise consistently stand out. He brings a great attitude to every job, creating a positive experience for customers and colleagues alike. His customer-focused approach is evident in the way he communicates, follows up, and ensures every concern is fully addressed.

Technically, Matt is highly knowledgeable and dependable. He has a strong grasp of both vintage and modern elevator systems and applies that expertise with precision. When troubleshooting, he excels—methodical, efficient, and able to pinpoint issues quickly while explaining solutions clearly.

Matt is exactly the type of technician you want on your equipment: skilled, reliable, and committed to doing the job right. We’re so excited to have him on the team.

Sean McMannis

There is nothing that Sean enjoys more than helping a customer solve an elevator issue. Since 2008, he has witnessed a deterioration in the services provided throughout the industry. Sean prides himself on being responsive and honest. He takes the time to educate elevator owners and help them understand their options. After spending time at various elevator companies, Sean joined Washington Elevator because he believes building owners and managers crave a company focused on people, not profits.

With more than 15 years of elevator experience, Sean’s goal is to proactively address all elevator issues so that you can focus on your business.

When Sean isn’t helping customers, you can find him playing on the soccer field, cheering on the Sounders and enjoying activities with his wife and their two young kids.
