Habitat for Humanity – Women Build Day!
Recently, Customer Advocacy Champion, Amellia (Emmy) Parrott and Owner, Sarah Waterman, at Washington Elevator, volunteered in support of Habitat for Humanity. We spent the day helping to cut and install siding on the homes which will be occupied by future homeowners. Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King & Kittitas Counties work together with families, local communities, volunteers and partners so that more people are able to live in affordable and safe homes.
But what is Women Build?
Over the course of several weeks in April and May, the women and organizations of Seattle-King County will fund projects, build affordable homes, and revitalize neighborhoods. The Habitat for Humanity Women Build program recruits, educates, and encourages women to build and advocate for affordable homes in their communities.
Fun Fact!
Women make up over 50 percent of Habitat for Humanity volunteers and homeowners! Learn more about the impact you too can have by volunteering www.habitat.org/stories/power-women-build
