Modernization Journey - Week 2

Week two is in the books. If you remember, week one was spent primarily in the machine room. If you need a refresher, you can see that here. Let’s see what Jon and Zach were up to this week.

Hall stations (buttons and key switches) have been mounted. This main hall station includes vandal resistant buttons, Phase I Fire Service key switch and indicator, and an emergency communication failure notification and reset key switch.

The Car Operating Panel (COP) has been replaced. The new COP includes a phone, camera and 10” LCD screen to comply with audio / visual code, new vandal resistant buttons with an illuminated tactile and halo, locked service and fire service panel. (Fingerprints will be cleaned before we’re done)

The car top has been demoed. Door operator and inspection station has been removed. New car top inspection station is mounted and ready to be wired.

New rupture valve and shut off in the pit.

All hall door lock equipment (Pick up roller assembly, interlock, spirator) is complete. All hanger rollers replaced. This was completed on all five floors.

Great work John and Zack! Check back in next week to see their progress.

Sean McMannis

There is nothing that Sean enjoys more than helping a customer solve an elevator issue. Since 2008, he has witnessed a deterioration in the services provided throughout the industry. Sean prides himself on being responsive and honest. He takes the time to educate elevator owners and help them understand their options. After spending time at various elevator companies, Sean joined Washington Elevator because he believes building owners and managers crave a company focused on people, not profits.

With more than 15 years of elevator experience, Sean’s goal is to proactively address all elevator issues so that you can focus on your business.

When Sean isn’t helping customers, you can find him playing on the soccer field, cheering on the Sounders and enjoying activities with his wife and their two young kids.
