Modernization Journey - Week 6

Apologies for the delayed update. I was on vacation last week. If you missed our previous weeks or just want a refresher, you can catch them here:

Last week, Jon was doing a lot of wiring. This week, he’s preparing for our final inspection. That means he’s bringing out weighs. In this case, that’s 2500 pounds. He’ll be tuning the control valve and overspeed valve to operate at full capacity. Jon will also be adjusting the door pressure.

A view from the car top.

Mini split indoor unit to control machine room temperature.

Modified oil line includes a mainline strainer and shut off valve. All piping is supported with isolation clamps to reduce vibrations.

New pit lighting, ladder and stop switch.

New car riding lanterns.

Car operating panel all wired up.

Car top - inspection station, door operator, new roller guides.

New disconnect and electrical.

A view inside the power unit - control valve, silencer and isolation coupling.

If all goes to plan, we’ll be ready to call for inspection next week.
